Our hybrid chestnut trees are from a local seed source, blight-free and a proven strain of chestnut. Additionally, they prefer well-drained soil, are best for northern climates, and are hardy to Zone 4. Two trees are required for pollination. Finally, they require 3-5 years for production and are an excellent mass crop for deer.

Deer Candy Persimmon are self-producing grafted females, no need to plant and care for a male persimmon. This tree will produce a 2″ sweet fruit that will start dropping in October. Deer will come from miles as they drop throughout the Archery season. Hardy to USDA zone 4.

Deer Magnet Persimmon are self-producing grafted females, no need to plant and care for a male persimmon. This tree will produce a 2″ sweet fruit that will start dropping in November and continue into December. Deer will come from miles as they drop throughout the Archery and Rifle season. Our American persimmon trees are from a Northern seed source and are a favorite with deer.  This variety is drought tolerant, can grow anywhere with the exception of sites that are overly wet, and is hardy to Zone 4.  Seedlings can be male or female.  Therefore, it is best to plant a few of these trees for pollination.  These persimmon trees can take up to 10 years to be a productive producer of fruit.

Ranetka is a hardy crab apple tree option for colder climates and is hardy to Zone 4. Our ranetka trees are from a local seed source and will grow well in a variety of soil types except for wet soil.  Also, its apples will hang on well into the colder months.  This tree variety is a great addition for your deer food plot perimeter.  Finally, these are self fertile trees and will usually start fruiting in about 6 years.

The Kieffer pear is a self-pollinating late dropping pear. These are grafted trees that produce a heavy crop and are one of the best self pollinating pears available. The Kieffer pear can start producing in 3-5 years and are hardy to USDA zone 4.

Our mulberry trees are grown from seeds that are locally sourced and they will grow just about anywhere, though they prefer a sunny location.  They are adapted to NY’s climate, are hardy to Zone 5, and can be either male or female. While only one female tree is necessary to produce fruit, having a male tree nearby will ensure pollination. These trees are great for attracting turkeys and birds  and will product fruit in about 5-6 years.

Our hazelnut trees are grown from seeds that are locally sourced and are hardy to Zone 3.  They will grow well in a variety of soil types except overly wet soil.  Hazelnuts provide great wildlife habitat and nutrition.  As a result, deer, turkey, quail and ruffed grouse will benefit from the nuts.  Furthermore, these trees also make great windbreaks and hedges. Two trees are required for pollination and fruiting is possible within 3-5 years.
